On Earth Day, Sunday, April 18, 2010, we began a 6-week Adult Study entitled Creation Care: Responding to Climate Change (for details, click here) CDs of these sessions are available in the office. On the last day of the series we hosted a Locavore Lunch . For recipes, click here.

On Sunday, April 26, 2009, we wrapped up our Cool Campaign with a Worship Service led by the Cool Planet Group and another Locavore Lunch.
As you can see, our footprint is a lot smaller now than when we began the campaign!
We recycled the original footprints on it to make further commitments toward reducing our carbon footprints. Click here to see the results for the Cool Campaign.

On Sunday, October 5, 2008, in conjunction with Acterra, we launched the First Pres Cool Campaign, with the slogan “Put Your Best Footprint Forward”. During our World Communion Sunday Worship Service, Sam Hamilton-Poore preached on keeping the Sabbath holy by "getting off the grid". 66 families turned in cards of commitment and we created a banner which was displayed in the Narthex. Our community then celebrated with a Locavore lunch, for which most of the ingredients came from within a 100 mile radius.
