Cool Campaign

From October 2008, to April 2009, the families of First Presbyterian Church participated in a grass-roots effort to fight global climate change, using the ACTerraGreen program offered by Ellen M. Wilkinson and Acterra, a local environmental organization. Our campaign was called "Put Your Best Footprint Forward".

Who was behind the Cool Campaign? The Cool Team was your Cool Planet Working Group, who helped get the message out that there are many things families and individuals can do to help the environment. We wanted to find out whether, if we worked together and took it a step at a time, we could start to slow global climate change by changing our lifestyle habits. And we succeeded!  Almost 80 families participated in the campaign and at least 5000 energy-reduction actions were taken as a result of their involvement!

These web pages and the fprespaCoolPlanet@yahoogroups.com email group are the legacies of the campaign.
